Carpenter

Madison Property Management, a local family-owned, full-service property management company, is hiring a Carpenter. This is a full-time, hourly, in person position. The shift is Monday- Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. This role reports to the Carpentry Supervisor and is responsible for completing carpentry projects to ensure the properties managed by MPM are kept up to applicable standards.

Responsibilities / Duties:
  • Repairing or replacing rough framing, decks, cabinetry, countertops, finish trimming, doors, windows, stair stringer, and siding
  • Loading and unloading materials and equipment
  • Following instructions from supervisors and implementing plans
  • Assist with snow removal
  • Complete work order reports and handle inventory appropriately
  • Interact professionally with residents, office staff, and vendors as needed
  • Communicate with the Property Management team to ensure that property residents and owners are kept in the loop on applicable carpentry projects
  • Contribute to a positive team environment
  • Develop an understanding of the MPM portfolio, inventory, and SOP’s
  • Additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in general carpentry, hanging doors, windows installation, framing, finish trim work, stair stringer layout, cabinet and countertop installation, etc.
  • Must provide own tools
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blue prints
  • Have the ability to use mechanical and electrical tools as well as test and measuring equipment to assemble and/or troubleshoot equipment
  • Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, able to multi-task and have good problem-solving skills
  • Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Assisting with snow removal is mandatory.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Positive attitude and great interpersonal skills
  • Overtime is mandatory during August-September campus turnover, including some weekend work. May need to work overtime in other months
