Inspector

Madison Property Management, a local family-owned, full-service property management company, is hiring an Inspector. This is a full-time, hourly, in person position. The shift is Monday- Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. This position is responsible for completing move-out, annual, quarterly common area, and new property inspections.

Responsibilities / Duties:
  • Schedule and complete inspections (pre move-out, annual, quarterly common areas, and new properties)
  • Answer questions from property managers, turnover scheduling staff and/or property owners regarding inspection reports and work order tickets
  • Pull unit list from Rent Manager and prioritize list for Annual Inspections
  • Post tenants for inspections
  • Create and assign inspections using Rent Check
  • Create work order tickets for general maintenance, carpentry, wall repair/painting, laborer maintenance and major repairs as needed
  • Generate maintenance inspection reports using Rent Check
  • Attach maintenance reports to maintenance tickets
  • Identify opportunities for rental property improvements/remodels
  • Archive completed and not completed inspections in Rent Check
  • Update inspection UDF’s at property/unit level in Rent Manager
  • Submit high priority/emergency maintenance tickets in a timely fashion
  • Communicate effectively with all facilities and office staff
  • Contribute to a positive team environment
  • Additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Proficiency with computers and smart phones is necessary
  • Previous experience in property management is a plus
  • Knowledge of general property maintenance terms
  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. (Previous Experience with Rent Manager and/or Rent Check is a plus)
  • Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, able to multi-task and have good problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and be flexible
  • Positive attitude and great interpersonal skills
  • Overtime is mandatory during August-September campus turnover, including weekend work. May need to work overtime in other months
